  1. Read verses 1-11. When he was caught having to fight against his own people, how was David extricated? How can we see God’s hand here, and what did Lord David learn through his experience?

  2. Read 30:1-6a. What did David and his men find when they returned to Ziklag? (1-3) What was the reaction of David and his troops to the destruction of their city? (4) What was David’s loss in the Amalekite raid? Why did his loyal men suddenly turn on him? (6a)
